2025 Three Eagle Trail Resurfacing Project

Trails matter.

For nearly 20 years, the Three Eagle Trail Foundation has connected the towns of Three Lakes and Eagle River, Wisconsin through the development and maintenance of a 12.7-mile bike and pedestrian trail.

The Foundation will be undertaking a major trail resurfacing project during the summer of 2025. The project will include adding several inches of new surface material to the section between the Hwy 45 parking lot and the Sundstein Road trailhead (see map below).

This project is made possible through a Recreational Trails Program (RTP) grant from the Wisconsin DNR, statewide businesses, and people like you! Join the effort by donating to the resurfacing project and help preserve the Three Eagle Trail for the future. All donations are tax-deductible.

Join us on July 19th from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm at Don Burnside Park in Three Lakes for our Fundraising Kickoff Event. There will be food, music, games, and fun for the whole family as we celebrate the Three Eagle Trail and raise money for our project. There will be a basket raffle with donations from local vendors, a silent auction for an e-bike (CITY SLICKER by Excel Power Bikes), and more!

  2. Take the 2025 3ET Visitor Survey: The Foundation is working with the Wisconsin Office of Outdoor Recreation to help us understand who uses the trail and what type of impact the trail might have on our local community.

  3. Join us on July 19 at Don Burnside Park in Three Lakes. We will gather from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm to celebrate the Three Eagle Trail and raise money for the project. We will have games, music, food, basket raffles, and a silent auction ending at 5:30 pm.
